Development Plans

Hello fellow community members, how is everyone doing among this pandemic period that we are facing? Since the conclusion of our Testnet Contest, we have been blessed by over one hundred users coming to donate their hash to help test our latest blockchain. While testing our chain we encountered a few issues that forced us to hasten our timeline for development as we foresee a problem with the current blockchain. To stay true to our business model and offer cloud services through our blockchain at an optimum time, we need to reduce block time drastically. While we initially had foreseen this issue and came up with a solution while internal testing, it was predicted that the chain would be able to support most functions at a reasonable framework. However, upon Testnet, we saw this was not acceptable for our goals. As such, along with an effort to shut down a potential exploit.

Zentoshi Blockchain will be making the following changes:

1. Starting immediately, development for our unique consensus model that was envisioned during internal development will start. This will be announced and further detailed in future articles.

2. PoS will be turned off, a possible exploit and an issue that was deeply rooted in the way difficulty was calculated between PoW/PoS was found during Testnet. Furthermore, this forces us to rollback the chain to block 2876.

3. PoW will remain as the basis of the blockchain for the next Testnet, however PoW is available for a limited time only. Our unique consensus model will not run on PoW or PoS. Testers will have the opportunity to mine the chain with those coins being redeemable on Mainnet.

Issues to be Addressed

We predict our future updates to our current blockchain will enable for 1 second block time, which will allow for instant transactions and smart contract issuance, delivering our cloud services at the standard that many get to enjoy this day. This will allow Zentoshi to compete with major competitors, while keeping its unique stance. In the meantime, Zentoshi will be slowly transitioning off from its PoW/PoS model, with PoS being the first to go, and PoW being removed after our new consensus model is ready to be tested. The next fixes that are being worked on before the next Testnet are:

1. Fixing the difficulty retargeting to make it less aggressive.

2. Fixing mempool issues

3. Fixing wallet crashes when sending multiple transaction (rpc sendmany)

4. Fixing issues with the local database when you restart the wallet.

5. Configuring the default transaction fees

Zentoshi will continue to work hard and we thank you for your patience as our developers fix the issues.

Thank you for following us so far, we look forward to delivering new technologies to everyone and having our testers be at the forefront of blockchain tech.
